We had a peach scone (best scone I've ever had), cheese omelet, buckwheat waffle and a piece of frittata. It was all very good. In addition to the menu, they had a few pastries, all freshly prepared. The food was very good and fresh tasting. The environment was nice and relaxed, lots of artwork on the walls, open with high ceilings, very well decorated.

We loved this fun and funky spot!! The owners are such nice folks. They are transplants from San Francisco and Manhattan ! The food is fresh and prepared with love. The wife has a fantastic eye for detail and design. The interior is like a modern art museum.. If you are hungry for a wonderful meal, do yourself a favor and visit this treasure..

What a lovely cafe! I love the ambiance and it's very relaxing. I had the breakfast frittata and a vanilla latte. The whole wheat Apple ginger scone was amazing--moist on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside. Our food was hot and served promptly. The coffee is very good and we're definitely coffee snobs. I would certainly come again.

hardly anyone who lives here knows about it because it's almost never open, but for those who do are the lucky ones. Great food that's healthy. We got a custom sugar-free, gluten-free carrot cake made for our daughter who turned 1 (for her birthday). It was excellent--many people who never delved into the IDEA of being "healthy" thought it was incredible too. Great lunch food, etc.

Our son's name is Zephrim so of course we had to stop a at a place called the Zephyr! I am glad we did too....I got a slice of coconut bread with cream cheese frosting; seriously one of the best things I've eaten EVER! Too bad the Zephyr is so far from home :(

I had the kale salad w/ polenta croutons and added bacon, my husband ordered the club with a side of house-made clam chowder. Everything was delicious and to top it off- I highly recommend the fresh strawberry-basil lemonade!

Very pleasant find in Baker City. The menu is limited, but covers all the basics with a couple of options for soups, salads and sandwiches. I was in town for the Baker City Cycling classic and had a great turkey club, with a few twists (local bacon, hot peppers) to make it interesting. Nice airy feel inside, definitely a good place to relax with a coffee or a drink. Best food I had in Baker City. Zephyr would fit in just fine in Portland.

So the real question is this: is Zephyr good enough to become a foodie road trip destination? The answer, I think, is yes. Except that Baker City is not exactly close to places that most Yelpers call home. And we'll leave out the in-the-know locals, since they don't need reviews to recognize quality food, drink, and decor when they taste and see it ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zeph… ). That leaves the rest of us, the non-locals who like adventurous eating and drinking while exploring the blue highways and scenic backroads (and backwoods) of North America. So, no, don't come all the way out to Eastern Oregon just to have breakfast, lunch, or brunch at Zephyr - or to pick up a bottle of wine or local beer or coffee or cheese before you leave. Come to Eastern Oregon because it's a great place in and of itself, and then conveniently detour to Baker City and then slip inside of Zephyr and treat yourself to something nice. The salad special, for example, maybe with fresh pea shoots, golden beets, Rollingstone chevre, blueberries, and sliced green apple. And a bottle of Terminal Gravity's deservedly famous IPA (from Enterprise, which is technically "down the road" in these parts). yelp.com/biz_photos/zeph… Then have desert - delicious apple pie and whipped cream with espresso, maybe ( yelp.com/biz_photos/zeph… ). Get a bottle of wine for the road - from Forgeron Cellars or L'Ecole N° 41 (both in Walla Walla), perhaps, or a Kermit Lynch French wine selection from the Rhone or Loire. I'm partial to Bandol reds, myself, especially when drunk in Idaho while watching thunder storm roll in from the West. And after that, hit the Blue Mountain or Wallowa scenic byways or head into Hells Canyon, or camp out along the North Fork of the John Day River. Relive the tribulations of the Oregon Trail in style by staying at the best B&B in Pendleton before getting a wool blanket from the outlet store. Just make a gastronomic pit stop here part of your road trip equation, and you'll be all the happier about Eastern Oregon when you return for home. Baker City may not make the Michelin list of places to eat and be seen, but at Zephyr, you'll feel like a blue highway foodie rock star, anyway.

We stopped in on a road trip. After spending a foodie summer in Portland I can say this place has just as good of food as a typical Portland restaurant. The food here is fresh and quality. Many of the dishes use beautiful vegetables that add great color.

We had scones (good) and coffee (also good). The limited menu for breakfast and lunch looked good, and I'd like to stay longer on the next trip. As noted elsewhere, the hours are limited (Thursday - Sunday).

We got here late so not sure what is normally available. I had a apple tart that was very tasty. The offered several options besides pasties. Soup, salad and omelette. The owners were very nice. Im not familiar with the area, just driving through. The cafe was larger than a normal cafe. Very appealing and pleasant feel. Music was calming. Definitely different. Not what you would expect in a small town. A greater stop for travelers.

Blueberry cobbler is a must. Kale salad was delicious. If you are driving through this is a great stop for breakfast or lunch.

Had the turkey poblano hash as breakfast for lunch. Very yummy, and with the side of toast (which tasted like buttered, fresh, homemade bread), completely filling. Cool interior with loungers, graffitied school auditorium chairs, and leather high backs. Friendly service. Highly recommend.

We ate breakfast here and the food was good. I do not drink fruit juices so I drank water. The menu is limited but the food was well prepared. I ordered the Johnny cake waffle-it was well cooked but missing something. My husband ordered the omelette which was very tasty.

Lovely local place with organic ingredients run by the owners--a married Baker/Chef team! Split pea soup was fabulous!

Wonderful omelettes and pablano hash, flavorful and yummy! Warm and friendly staff, excellent decor and house bread. After eating here you'll be content to sit and watch the world go by for a few hours.

Are you kidding, Yelp? This is Eastern Oregon - steak and hash browns country. The Zephyr, as its name implies, is a breath of fresh air. Limited but very good menu. Immaculate and attractive surroundings. It's a real find and will become a standard stop for us.

What a gem! We're driving from Salt Lake to Portland and stopped for the night in Baker, OR. I'm so glad we found this place! The Zephyr has great food. I kept it simple with a scone and a mocha. The scone is the best scone I've ever had, seriously. The mocha is delicious as well. My friends got the granola, and they loved that. They do other breakfast foods as well, waffles, frittatas, etc. The prices are very reasonable, the food and coffee are good quality.

My teenage son and I ate here on a road trip to Seattle. We were happy to find it open on a Sunday. He had a club sandwich that he loved. He said it was unique and delicious. I had the Hong Kong salad - really yummy, lite and GF. In a beautifullly restored downtown building. Highly recommend.

FABULOUS!!!! Simple ingredients, well prepared. The menu was short, but that didn't make choosing any easier! Everything sounded interesting and delicious. Wonderful flavor combinations, with a simple but thoughtful presentation. Right down to the perfectly ripe piece of pear accompanying our breakfast choices. One of the best breakfasts we've ever had dining out. Oh, and the space itself is lovely......

We stopped in for lunch, based on other yelp reviews, and we agreed that this is a destination-worthy place. Had a delicious omelette and an Asian salad. Loved the (seasonal) fresh peach and raspberry garnishes. Highly recommended.

Food great and charming ambiance. Steak burrito chicken dish and goat sandwich were devoured by all of us. Great food found on the way to the Oregon coast!

Not the best place to eat on a Saturday morning. Limited menu, but still good. 2 stars since the food is clearly not fresh--warmed up in a microwave right in front of you.

Great coffee and good food. Breakfast and lunch. Across the street from the Geiser Hotel. Had breakfast here. Very good drip coffee. I didn't have a espresso drink but they do have them and seem to know what they are doing. Breakfast was good and they included lots of fresh vegetables at my request (tough to get any veggies at all on the road). 3 HOURS LATER. Discovered I had a flat tire on the bike and am back here for lunch. Wrapping up this review looking at a very nice kale quinoa corn and avocado salad. Great option for people looking for something more healthy or flavorful. Nice local vibe too - big round table hosts a morning coffee klatch. I was surprised to see this place wasn't on Yelp and actually went to the trouble of putting in their details myself. Its a great option for yelp-using travelers looking for something other than steak and potatoes in the area.
